Oklahoma Community Theatre

OCTA was the 1st statewide association of community theatres to be incorporated in the US, and was the 1st such organization to hire a complete-time manager. The organization was established in 1969 by the Lawton Community Theater, with assistance from 14 other theatre groups (13 of which are still actively producing plays each season) Founding theatres were situated in Ardmore, Bartlesville, Claremore, Clinton, Duncan, Elk City, Enid, Lawton, Miami, Oklahoma City, Ponca City, Stillwater.
