They take 2-4 weeks to arrive by mail to you. We generally see families order between 5-8 death certificates, although there is no hard and fast rule. Here's a helpful resource to figure out how many death certificates you need. Social Security is notified when we file the death certificate using the valid SSN provided by each family.
