With the generous donation of time and resources from the staff at Portland's Westside Surgery Center, I havebeen able to treatover 30 patients with cataract surgery, using advanced technology IOL's, at zero cost to the patient. Inc.'s iCARE Project provides eye exams, prescription glasses, surgeries, and education to people in Jamaica. In the areas iCARE works, there are only two public health eye care providers for every 500,000 Jamaicans and no public health optometrists.
