Padre Island Yacht Club

In August 1996, the doors to the two-story building at the W end of Whitecap were opened to all the dedicated and hard-working members of the Padre Island Yacht club. It was ten years in coming. When the 1st enthusiastic yachtsmen met in 1986 at Anchor Resort, the aim was to share their common interest in sailing, boating, racing, and to form new friendships in the process. That happened and more! As the membership grew, they needed a place huge enough to hold their increasing numbers.
