Set up in 1917, Patten Monument has been serving Michigan families for more than 90 years. From our humble beginnings as a single shop on Plainfield Avenue, Grand Rapids, Michigan, we currently have expanded to become Michigan's biggest supplier of cemetery memorials. With trained distributors throughout most Michigan cities, there is likely a distributor a short drive from you. In 1994 Great Lakes Granite Works was born. This separate division focuses on various commercial products and domestic countertops, vanities and fireplace surrounds.

With only a three-person team, we had little idea what was in store for the future of Patten Monument. All we knew was that we were determined to put our heart and souls into the business. In those early days what we lacked in size and reputation, we made up for with work ethic, personal service and a love for monument making.
