Dataline. Was established in 1990 to sell computer hardware by direct mail, mostly to local business. This was, of course, before the days of Best Buy and many other computer retailers, and business was brisk. Meteoric Growth. In 1993, Dataline hired talented people with software and technical expertise and got into IT integration, building computer networks using existing or off-the-shelf technology. The business took off and Dataline grew from 5 employees to more than 250 employees in 8 years.
