1972 - PLM International (PLM) is established as a Lessor and director of railcar investments. From 1972 through 1996 it raises over $1. 7 billion of equity for investment in railcars, aircraft, marine containers, shipping vessels, and refrigerated trailers. 1990 - PLM International branches out into the rental business and creates PLM Rental. PLM Rental opens 3 trailer rental and leasing yards. 1992 - PLM Rental acquires Resource Trailer Leasing (RTL) and merges both firms' locations to create 10 PLM Rental locations situated primarily within the eastern and central USA.
