The Pollack family business started in 1937 in San Jose, California. That is where Sidney Gambord, Michael Pollack's grandfather, decided to enter the real estate development business. In 1942, Pollack's father, Robert, entered the real estate business and focused on industrial and multifamily projects. Like Gambord, success soon followed the elder Pollack and in 1964, the two men decided to join their talents with the creation of Pollack & Gambord Development Company.
