In 1991, a new kind of specialty store was born. The Bauer family business began in a small shop in Redwood City, California, with only a couple dozen products on the shelf. Through the years, the store grew, as did the range of the merchandise and the involvement of more family members in the business. During the years that followed, Bauer Industries, d.b.a. Sports Rack, experienced tremendous growth as more stores were opened around California and throughout the West.
