Celebrating our 80th birthday and tenth year Uptown. 1928 - A Charlotte original, Reid's Fine Foods is established on Morehead Street by J. Arthur Reid. Meanwhile, Mickey Mouse makes his 1st animated appearance, and a U. S. Postage stamp cost only two cents. 1931 - One year after air mail starts arriving in Charlotte, Reid's moves to a new location on Providence Road. 1933 - Leroy Morrison is hired as a junior stock clerk. Morrison will later purchase Reid's from his uncle, J. Arthur Reid. 1961 - As Stanford R. Brookshire starts his 1st of four terms as Mayor of Charlotte, Morrison hires Chuck Richards as a junior stock clerk.
