These embedded soils accelerate wear and deterioration so vacuuming helps extend the life of your fine oriental rugs. That said, vacuums can damage area rugs too. For example, the rotating beater bar on an upright vacuum can suck the fringe ends of a carpet and rip them off. Care should be taken when vacuuming rugs to minimize the risk of damage to your rugs.

Val and Randy were amazing! Very responsive and great communication. The rug looked great when it came back. They are experts, knew where my rug had come from and how to clean it (what to do and what to not do). The deliver guys were great too.

It takes a special kind of person to do this intricate detail oriented work. Renaissance Rugs, owners & employees, possess an "Encyclopedia Britannica" knowledge base that covers the history, geography, culture, manufacturing process, repair protocol, cleaning protocol, along with an artistic ability to address anything about your beloved rugs. They are enthusiasts.

I had Renaissance clean a wool rug that I'd neglected for awhile.an unknown stain and frayed where my cat had clawed it. The rug came out looking great. I'm really pleased.

The real deal. rug nerds who love to help people keep their rugs looking clean and cared for. I've had three flat weave hard-working rugs cleaned and repaired here. Also replaced the non-skid pads. The cost is reasonable, service is excellent and informed, and my rugs look new again- ready for another year or two of hard use.

My silk rug looked beautifully new and fresh. It had been my mother's rug and I had no idea how crisp the colors were and that the background and fringe were creamy white. This is the second rug I have brought to Renaissance and both have been easy, good experiences for me and the rugs.

Had our rug recently cleaned and could not be happier. Renaissance picked the rug up and delivered it back looking brand new. They were also able to remove a couple of stains and some damage from cat claws. Highly recommended!

Randy and Valerie developed a love and aprication for woven textiles, tribal rugs, Persian carpets, and the cultures and artistry that creates them. In their off time, they scoured antique shops for rugs and explored weaving and dyeing as hobbies.
In 1996 Randy Atiyeh Brothers accepted a position with tribal rug expert and author James Opie, working retail, cleaning, and wholesale importation of rugs, an opportunity to expand his knowledge of rugs and carpets. Randy felt most at home cleaning and restoring fine carpets and antique rugs.
So, In 1999 Randy founded Renaissance Rug Cleaning Inc. Since its inception, Renaissance has been a specialty workshop devoted to the cleaning & restoration of oriental rugs and area carpets.
It wasn't too long before Valerie flowed Randy to work at Renaissance with two kids and seven employees, and over twenty-three years later, Renaissance is one of a small number of oriental rug / Area rug-specific facilities that specialize in just rug cleaning and repair in the country and the only one in Oregon and SW Washington.
