For three decades, we operated under the name Laguna Hills Endodontics, earning the confidence of patients and referring dentists throughout South Orange County. Today, as Saddleback Valley Endodontics, we continue that longstanding commitment to ethical, patient-centered treatment. Our doctors include Dr. L. Bjrn Jnsson, DDS, MS, Dr. Charles Tatosian, DDS, MS, and Dr. Wayland Chu, DDS, MSD, all of whom are board-certified Diplomates of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Jnsson additionally completed a comprehensive implant dentistry fellowship at Loma Linda University, providing our team with surgical training beyond that typically found in an endodontic practice.We provide root canal therapy and retreatment, apical surgery (apicoectomy), care for cracked teeth and root resorption, and treatment for dental emergencies. Sedation options are available for patients who experience anxiety. Our office uses advanced technology, including GentleWave, CBCT 3D imaging for every case, Zeiss surgical microscopes, and AI-assisted diagnostics, to support treatment outcomes and minimize discomfort. Patients do not need a referral, and we welcome second opinions. Throughout treatment, we coordinate closely with your general dentist. I had such a lovely visit here for a root canal re-treatment. I surprised myself by wanting to smile which is difficult to do with my mouth full of equipment. Dr. Jonsson was whistling and his assistant was softly singing to the music playing, I felt so cheerful. Dr. Jonsson told me what he was doing step by step which I really appreciated, and asked me how I was doing, which felt really comforting. I have never had such a beautiful experience at the dentist before, so am very grateful for the care and the atmosphere, thank you to my Doctor and assistant!

I had twice a root canal procedure done here by doctor Bjrn Johnsson and he made the experience very easy and comfortable for me as the patient, I had no pain during the procedure and almost none afterwards, thank you so much, I highly recommend doctor Johnsson especially if you dont like pain like me,

The one thing that I hold off on in life is seeing the dentist lol. Every freaking time I go it's an unpleasant experience. Well, this time was different.
I was referred to see Dr. Chu as I needed to get two root canal treatments done.
The moment he saw me he made sure that I was at ease. He told me what needed to be done and why, gave me instructions if I needed anything during the procedure, and he even gave me these cool goggles where I could watch YouTube.
Most importantly, I felt no pain. I was actually in awe watching Dr. Chu work on my teeth. You can tell he loves his craft, as he was so focused and thorough. By thorough, I mean that toward the end of the procedure, he actually ran a couple of X-rays to make sure my teeth were good to go. And he would make the necessary adjustments.
Towards the of end of the procedure Dr. Chu provided some recommendations (especially if I felt pain etc.) and to inform him ASAP.
Hopefully I won't have any more root canal treatments, but if I ever do I'm only going to him.
By the way, I drove 45 min to this specific Endodontics because I wanted a doctor who is great at what they do, and I also want to go to a clinic where they're honest with their procedures and pricing. Saddleback Valley Endodontics is that.

I called with a referral from my regular dentist. Monique was able to give me an appointment for the same afternoon. Dr. Jonsson consulted with me and then he and Veronica were willing to stay late to do my root canal. Everyone was wonderful and Dr. Jonsson is especially caring and gentle. I cannot recommend Saddleback Valley Endodontists highly enough. Ive had dental trauma from earlier experiences in my life, so walking into this appointment, I was honestly filled with anxiety. I was referred by Dr. Kirsch of Kirsch & Moradi Dental of Lake Forest, CA. (I also highly recommend as well!)
Dr. Jonsson met me with such calm, compassion, and understanding. He truly listened and guided me toward sedation, which completely transformed the experience. For the first time, I felt safe and cared for in a dental setting.
And I have to highlight the anesthesiologist, Dr. Krawhe was absolutely AMAZING. His level of care is something you rarely encounter. He personally called me before the procedure to check in and again afterward to make sure I was okay. I went in after having pain for over two weeks. My dentist had referred me to Dr. Jonsson. I knew I probably needed a root canal and was a bit nervous. Dr. Jonsson was so kind and put me right at ease. He explained everything to me as he was doing it. Id had a root canal several years ago and the technology has come along way. Im grateful for that. His assistant was also very kind and gentle. I will definitely go back to Dr. Jonsson any time.

I was having an after hours emergency this weekend and was referred to Dr. Jonsson by my dentist. I was called Monday morning with no appointment and advised to come right in. Dr. Jonsson immediately brought be back, managed my pain and then gave me the root canal which expanded what he was doing every step to make sure I was comfortable. We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Jonsson and his staff. Everyone in the office is very friendly, gentle, and professional. My son recently needed a root canal treatment, and throughout the whole process, Dr. Jonsson was extremely patient and caring. My child felt comfortable and safe with him on the way home, he even said he wants to come back here for all his future check-ups.

My husband had an appointment today with Dr Jonsson for a possible root canal. From the appointment process to the consultation, everyone we encountered was excellent, informative and made this visit so easy. After reviewing my Husbands X-rays, Dr Jonsson gave us the option of root canal vs extraction. We chose extraction and are now in that path. I just felt so cared for at this office I had to write and share our experience.

Ive had this procedure before and it was the absolute worst experience. HOWEVER, this time was the complete opposite. Dr. Jonsson and his staff assured me they would make it a better experience. Well they lied. It wasnt even close. It was literally the BEST dental experience of my life. I told everyone I spoke to that day about the great experience I had. Dr. Jonsson took the time to explain every step of the procedure, answered all my questions, and ensured I was comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Bjorn Jonsson and his entire staff are fantastic. Nobody wants a root canal. That's why I put it off for over a year but I felt so confident and well treated here today that I ended up practically feeling like I was having a spa day.
