Our Mission: Have Fun, Make Friends, Learn to Sail on Long Island Sound! Sailaway Sailing School's staff will be the friends you need to get started in the wonderful sport of sailing. Give the gift of sailing with a Learn to Sail Cruise on Long Island Sound. Departing from Captain's Cove Seaport in Bridgeport, this two or three hour voyage with one of our certified instructors teaches the basics and give sailors a chance to take the helm and feel the wind in their sails.

read moreSince 2006, we at Sailaway, are passionate about teaching kids to sail in a safe environment at their own pace. All of our instructors and counselors are US Sailing certified and are certified in CPR and First Aid. Our great team of certified instructors insure that your kids will have a lot of fun while learning to sail safely. All of our students must know how to swim and lifejackets are required to be worn whenever on the docks or out on the boats. All of their time both on the water and in the classroom will be closely supervised by the instructors.

read moreThe goal of our Summer Program for Kids is to teach them how to sail at their own pace in a safe environment combining hands-on instruction with fun activities to build confidence, encourage teamwork and develop friendships! For kids ages 9 to 14. We will continue to take precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and sailors. We are limiting the number of students in our classes and conducting all of our activities outdoors. Classes will not be held when the forecast is for inclement weather.
