I am forever a fan of Tice. I doubt I will ever go to another salon! I recently moved to the area and had my hair done elsewhere (before I learned of Tice's awesome work!) I didn't love the color that I had (a bit orange!) and Tice did an amazing job fixing my color. She was INCREDIBLE. It's just the shade I wanted and had the right highlights and shading.

She even stayed late because it took longer than what I originally booked. She is EXCELLENT at coloring and I highly recommend her. She is knowledgeable, professional, patient, and truly the best of the best!

Skye is a wizard! She knew exactly how to cut and style my hair, taking into account things like natural texture, volume, and hair growth direction. My hair has never looked or felt so good, and Skye was so friendly as she worked through it with me, showing me along the way how to style at home. She is so kind and SO amazing with hair. I will be going to her from now on!

First visit, so I'll have to add more after I've spent a little more time here, but I was really happy with the service I got here! The business owner messaged me back after I sent a request fairly late on a Friday evening, and I was able to get a next-day appt after a last minute cancellation. Skye did a fantastic job, and the vibe of the salon was so friendly and comfortable! I'll definitely be back!

I don't usually leave review if the service/outcome is mediocre. I've been to heaps of salon (around the triangle) where the reviews are glowing, mostly due to haircolor/haircare but when you go for basic haircut, the result is a blah. A. HAIRSTYLIST: I just had my haircut done by TICE - I was highly satisfied. I remembered my fave hairdresser in NJ, lol! Tice - aside from she's easy to talk to, I've noticed that she is expert in her field of expertise, did not rush my shampooing, haircut, blowdrying - made sure that the outcome of my requested layered hair with side-swept fringe (soft point cut) was great.

Her techniques in haircutting were superb. In addition, did not judge my unkempt, thick hair with xxy colors & grey hairs. Can't wait to have a hair color with her. Thanks, Tice! B. I have never been to a salon before for personal grooming needs. So I guess my expectations were a little bit low. And I was very nervous. I suffer from severe anxiety. But I will say this: Tricia! You made me feel very welcome, and in the end amazing! I received a cut, color, shampoo, and blowout. I have never felt better in my life. I told Tricia that to her face and I meant it.

I told her beforehand that I was using a Groupon and not one time did I feel rushed, etc. She treated me like a client that had been coming to see her for years! I made sure I tipped her, she very well deserved it. Wow. One of the best days of my life. I can't stay out of the mirror!

I would highly recommend Tricia Howard. I have been going to her for almost a year now and she is wonderful. She has great customer service, professional and strives to understand what look you are trying to obtain. She takes care of all my hair needs. She also colors my hair, highlights and retouches my roots. And I get compliments everyday when I go out. She just did my latest color last week. And that very day I had three compliments. I have waited EIGHT YEARS in this amazing state to finally feel like myself while in my hair. I am SO grateful for the thoughtful detail, conversation, guidance, and energy from Katie at Salon Povera! She makes her artistry and talent look effortless. The whole experience was just a dream. I went to Salon povera because my sister recently got her hair colored there and she loved it! All I have to say is that this is the first time I go to a salon and leave loving my new hairstyle. Everyone is so nice. Erica did my hair and she actually listened to what I wanted. My highlights could not be closer to the picture I showed her. I am grateful that I finally found a good salon that I can trust.

I've been coming to salon povera for the past year and I love my hair more every time. Pam is wonderful and always listens to the look that I'm trying to achieve. I really do think it's the best salon in Durham and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I bought a Groupon for this salon without any previous experience with the stylists. Pamela cut my hair and did a great job! She listened to what style I wanted (I cut off 9 of hair for a donation) and did a great job with natural hand-painted, subtle highlights. I have gotten so many compliments on my new look! Great experience from start to finish, I would highly recommend this salon as well as Pamela, she was great!

It's a small salon, but fresh and modern, with a very helpful and kind staff. I had booked online with one stylist, who was busy, so Pam was more than happy to take care of me right away. Pam did a fantastic job, especially since I was cutting off a lot of hair to donate to Locks of Love. She made me feel comfortable and gave me a great-looking haircut, suited to my lifestyle and needs. I will definitely be going back!

I had a wonderful experience at this salon for my wedding! They juggled all of my 8 bridesmaids and myself for hair and makeup and did an excellent job. The staff is very friendly and they took time to make sure they knew what kinds of styles each girl wanted. You can tell that the staff at Salon Povera really enjoys what they do! I went in for a haircut not long after, and I'm not sure anyone has had so much fun cutting my hair as Patrick! He spent a long time talking to me about exactly how I wanted my hair cut and did an excellent job. Also, I love the ambience of the salon itself. Overall a great salon!

Salon Povera is a wonderful, upscale space where the staff can give you any hair dream you desire! Patrick Hawker has been styling my hair and guiding me on the best "do" for me for over six years, and he is a master at his profession! It is one of my great pleasures to go have Patrick work his magic! It is the one treat I give myself no matter what!

Patrick and friends are amazing. The new place is amazing and I have recommended many friends here and they've always been impressed and recommended their friends. Patrick is so cool and accommodating. Highly recommend.

I now live in Manhatten and have access to many salons in the city. However, after going to Patrick for the last 13 years, I always book flights to NC around the time I need my hair done. He has done everything from a cut/color, to a bridal portrait and wedding. With the upmost professionalism, he is both creative and genious! I would recommend him to anyone, and will continue to use my patrick! He has always given the best results! I would not trust anyone else to do my hair or makeup. 5 stars
