When School House opened in 1976 on Washington Street in Green Bay, client service was the #1 goal. That aim has been carried throughout its history. Within two years of opening, School House outgrew its downtown location. Moving to the suburbs on Oneida Street in the middle of Packer country was the next step. They decided to offer teachers in Wisconsin an opportunity to see products for their classroom before they bought them. In 1975, if you could even find products for your classroom, you had to buy them through a catalog. The philosophy of seeing before you buy is still central to the business model of School House which has grown to be the biggest educational store in Wisconsin.
