Scopelock Security Systems

The idea for ScopeLock started in 1970 when David L. Stice, president and founder, was with a friend whose vehicle was stolen in what was thought to be a secured parking area in an apartment complex. At that time, in Houston, Texas, 5, 000 automobiles per day were stolen. The friend went on to say how unhappy he was that he could never find a parking spot close to his apartment because other residences who had friends tended to get his spot. Mr. Stice started to build a new bollard that would come up out of the ground when in use, approximately 30 inches in height, behind the parked vehicle.
