Shepherd of the Valley is a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) the 3rd biggest Lutheran church body in America. WELS started in 1850 when three German pastors met in Milwaukee. Today, it has expanded to over 1, 200 congregations in North America. WELS congregations are found in all 50 states and over twenty five foreign countries. The WELS has over 400, 000 baptized members, which includes over 300, 000 communicants, served by over 1, 000 pastors.

SVLP offers a school year program that has half day and full day options for children ages 3-5. It is the mission of SVLP to provide a safe and Christian environment where children can grow and develop while surrounded by the love of their Savior. SVLP teaches the whole child and helps children become active learners by encouraging their natural curiosity about the world they live in through hands on learning experiences, which will prepare them for elementary school and beyond.
