Printing Services in Madison, WI
Use your art and we can make a negative via a photographic process. This negative, which is a black & white film reverse of the original art, is used as a mask to expose a printing plate. The printing plate, after being developed (or etched) will be mounted on a printing press and coated with ink. The ink will only adhere where there is an image on the printing plate. With the ink on the plate, the plate is pressed to a blanket which is then pressed, in turn to the paper. This process is somewhat akin to a rubber stamp. After the ink has dried on the paper then other processes like trimming, folding, padding, or stapling can be performed.
