Owner and head instructor Katie Reding-Hall was a nationally recognized collegiate swimmer and captain of the women's swim staff at the University of California, Berkeley. She has been swimming, coaching, and teaching for over 24 years. A Bay Area native, Katie moved to Reno in 2004 for a better quality of life. Immediately falling in love with the community, she decided to make her career her true passion - teaching kids how to swim. The school's name, Silver Bear Swim School, incorporates her new love of Nevada - the Silver State - and her continuing love of her alma mater - the Cal Bears.

Starting at 6 months of age, our students will not only discover a love for the water, but they will also learn skills that boost their self-esteem and athleticism outside of the pool. Swimming is a rite of passage and an important life skill for your child. Learning to swim is also extremely beneficial to your child's physical, emotional and social development.
