About Us
read moreCarport construction is something we at Skyline Steel take pride in. By providing full service carport erection, and supplying our own equipment, Skyline Steel has better control over our scheduling. This means construction of your carports can occur when it best fits your schedule. Skyline Steel is often the only company that is used for structural steel carports. It's because we provide a great quality of structural fabrication and erection and we were the first steel building company in the southwest to provide complete covered parking structures including the design, fabrication, drilling, erection and field painting.
Industrial Steel Building Fabrication
read moreWith the expansion of our shops and equipment during the last 10 years, we've been able to serve industrial companies, such as powerplants, who have the need for special structures, such as towers and piperails, with mostly embedded material. In 2004 most of our sales were categorized with industrial fabrication. Skyline Steel started this division with one small package and gradually developed larger ones. Like the structural fabrication division, Skyline Steel's industrial metal building fabrication division has equipment that allows us to get materials ready for erection in the least ammount of time.
Structural Metal Building Fabrication
read moreDuring the last 10 years we have expanded our shops and upgraded our equipment to meet the demand for our services. In comparison, a project of 52,000lbs in size then would have been considered extreme where as now we are regularly fabricating projects in excess of 2,000,000lbs. Our fully programmable saws and drills allow us to duplicate detailed and intricate pieces of steel while our state-of-the-art beam line provides us with the means to produce high quality, large steel components ready for structural erection in the least amount of time.
Structural Steel Building Erection
read moreTwo years ago our bread-and-butter work primarily included joist, deck, warehouse-type structures and miscellaneous steel. Since then we've been gearing up to take on heavier weights, higher heights and more complex buildings. Our field personnel have integrated more sophisticated training techniques to prepare them for increasingly challenging work. We have managed, without increasing our department size, to raise profitability and inflate customer retention. Our safety ratings have reached new levels through intense OSHA training methods.
Custom Metal Building Project
read moreThis project involved several hours of field fabrication and heavy coordination due to tight quarters between our work area and the parking garage nearby. The structural erection portion of this project included two buildings and a miscellaneous package in-between. In the buildings, both floors included joist and a major roof levels. There were some problems with the dimensions for the canopies and connections in the stairwell which did not please the owner at the time. This project showcases the capabilities of both shop and field in regards to heavy miscellaneous steel.

Steel Building Construction Industry
read moreAt Skyline Steel Inc. safety plays a large, decision-makiing role in the way we set up shop. In March of 2004 the initial goal was zero accidents. In 2003 we had 91 accidents. So a more realistic goal was to cut the accidents in half for 2004. The company was separated into more defined divisions (Carports, Structural Fabrication, Industrial Fabrication, and Structural Erection) to break up the topics and make the sessions more specific to each area. The separation also helped identifiy safety specific problems, their frequency, what department and began to create patters in the time of year, times of hiring etc.
