It was December 1980, the launch of what was to become the Me Generation decade. After spending months in our favorite haunt, Soho, S of Houston in NYC) looking for inspiration and design concepts, we were done. Our soon to be opened, 3 chairs, 480 sq ft unisex salon in New Haven was christened, SOHO HAIR. A name that, to us, represented a compilation of ideas, live and let live progressive attitudes and boundless creative energy. Chelsea and Tribeca were yet to be discovered) We opened our doors Dec 15th, 1980; the week after John Lennon was shot.
