read moreAikido is a non-violent, Japanese martial art introduced by Morihei Ueshiba formerly known as, 'O-Sensei' or 'Great Teacher.' While Aikido does use strikes, Aikido's main focus is on using an attacker's energy and structure to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement. Martial arts training begins with learning basic movements statically or step by step and incorporating motion as one learns fundamentals.
