Southern Michigan Pain Consultants, PC (SMPC) in February 2000 with a philosophy that chronic pain should be treated as other chronic medical conditions, utilizing the finest methods of medicine and treating their patient as a complete, in managing their pain. SMPC has three pain management centers, Portage, Marshall & St. Joseph. Upon founder Charles Guernsey's retirement, partner and fellow pain specialist Matt Kuiper DO took on the additional role of Medical Director. Dr. Kuiper and Dr. Alshab are excited to welcome Dr. Barton Wild to Southern Michigan Pain Consultants.

Our physicians have completed advanced training in pain management through Pain Fellowships and are very familiar with spine related pain conditions among others. Their primary medical specialty may be Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and/or Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Our physicians work with each patient to find the best methods to reduce their pain and improve their daily function.

Your request is processed by Sharecare, our HIPAA Business Associate. Some requests are processed at no charge to the requesting party (such as referrals for continuing care). Other requests are charged a fee, in accordance with state statutes. Sharecare bills requesting entities such as attorneys, insurance companies, etc. directly; patients are not billed for this work.
