Athlete Michael Currie got the gold. He traveled with 60 other Special Olympics Michigan athletes as part of Team Michigan, to the 2010 USA National Games in Nebraska. Michael lives in Bear Lake and is part of Area 2 (Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties) He competed in aquatics. Michael had an added incentive to get the gold. Michael's individual trainer, Keith Bandli at FAST Fitness FAST Physical Therapy in Traverse City, made Michael a promise.
