St. George's School

Founded in 1896 as an Episcopal boarding school by the Rev. John Byron Diman, the school lives firmly in the 21st century, with state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities. A community drawn from a wide range of traditions and backgrounds in the U.S. and around the world, St. Georges extends opportunities for teachers and students to deepen their skills, find new passions, and discover their best selves, whether that be in a DNA sequencing lab, in competition on the basketball court, at sea navigating by starlight, or abroad in one of our unique service-learning internships. With a faculty committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for intellectual, social, and personal development, St. Georges continues to fulfill its mission through enrolling a diverse, academically talented, and well-rounded student body. True to our Episcopal heritage, we welcome students, faculty, and staff of all faiths.

We work together to build an environment that welcomes, values, and respects every member of our community regardless of age, ability, culture, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. Our domestic students hail from 31 states from Alabama to Wyoming, including the District of Columbia. Thirty-three percent are students of color. Sixteen percent of our students come to St. Georges from international families, representing 23 countries spread across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The diversity of perspectives students bring to campus makes classroom discussion both stimulating and educational. Outside of class, students share their identities, culture, and traditions in the dorms, through the arts, and in student clubs.
