Established in 1990, the String Academy of Wisconsin (SAW) has already become one of this country's model schools, providing students between the ages of 4 and 18 a complete musical education with a focus on the violin, viola or cello. Highly qualified artist faculty supply musical instruction located on the methods and philosophies of Mimi Zweig, Shinichi Suzuki, and Paul Rolland. The special training, experience, and experience of the SAW faculty in the musical training of young people results in students playing with technical ease and musical sensitivity. SAW's summer teacher training workshops are attended by string players from across the US, Canada and Europe.

read moreAs we approach the beginning of our third decade of existence, we are very proud of the String Academy's accomplishments: steady enrollment, students who are winning local and regional competitions, high quality music instruction for the children of Greater Milwaukee, and especially of our Scholarship Program for financially disadvantaged students. Each year nearly 100+ children benefit from studying violin, viola and cello at the String Academy. We raise funds annually to support picture our Scholarship Program in order to keep our unique, intensive training program affordable for all families.
