In 1946, they moved to El Dorado and opened Stuart's Typewriter Company. From scratch, they built a very successful office equipment company, serving south Arkansas. In late 1975, Richard Stuart opened Stuart's Business Equipment in Shreveport. Initially selling only Victor calculators, he slowly began adding more products until Stuart's was a complete office products company, growing into one of the largest in the area.
