
The year was 1959a very flavorful year. Tropical Hawaii was making waves as it entered America as the 50th state, Andy Warhol's famous Ice Cream Dessert painting charmed sweet-toothed art-lovers around the world, and a fresh-faced young entrepreneur named Tom Renwald began an ice cream vending firm in a small corner of Northwest Indiana with just a several bicycles and a couple of dozen ice cream bars. Soon, Renwald's tiny business expanded across the Midwest with locations across Indiana and Michigan.
