Great service!

It's been more than a month since our solar have been operational and I can't stress enough how grateful we are for chosing Sunline Energy for this project.

Our first interaction with Sunline was with Matthew to give us a quote. We had about 4 other quotes but he was the only one that actually took his time explaining all the details of the project to us. He was very knowledgeable of every product Sunline has to offer. We also never felt the "pressure" to go with their company from him. He kept in touch through email/texts and was very prompt with every response, Cc'ing others that has the need to know to keep them informed as well. Seeing this, i know that the communication within their company is great.
When i had a question that is not in-line with Matthew's expertise, Alex (Project Manager) was always there to provide clarification with the details of our project.

Liz/Jacob kept in touch with updates and timelines through email. From site survey, estimated installation dates, HOA approval, forms that need to be submitted and all other administrative aspect of our project, we were informed and assisted all the way through.

Wade and Sinti were our installers. I could not express enough how professional these two gentlemen were. From the very first roof tile removed, all the way to the last flip of the switch to turn on the system, they were very meticulous with the job. I did not once ever felt that they forgot to do something or that they were rushing the job. Everyday they cleaned up after themselves and even offered to dispose tiles that will not be used. They also both expressed to me how much Sunline is taking care of their people.

With our unique World situation due to the Covid pandemic, i was worried that there would be a delay on our install. Sunline did a great job keeping us posted with what's going on and still managed to get our project completed as per schedule.

Polite & patient

We had Chris Brown as our representative. He was knowledgeable, polite and patient. He answered all our questions. The education Chris provided helped us not only understand our solar system but, also make the best system for our family needs. Other solar companies need more representatives like Chris.

The best experience

The best experience I had with any contractors so far! Super smooth process from sales, which was not pushy at all. Very informative and consultative to permits, scheduling, billing, communications, installation - all super stars! I am looking forward to getting SDGE giving us permission to operate at this point.

I highly recommend Sunline Energy for your solar needs.

If you have noticed in other reviews Sunline is a growing company. But that does not in any way imply incompetence. It's actually proof of how well they are doing with their commitment to honesty and transparency to you, the customer.

My experience did take some time (from October signing contract to February final install) but you have to understand that 2019 was a crazy busy year for residential solar. This is my second time purchasing solar so I wasn't totally unfamiliar with the solar process. Last time I went with ASI here in San Diego in 2015.

If you choose Sunline and happen to work with these people, then you are in luck. Many thanks to:

The original company we used 7 years ago for solar went out of business, and when looking to add additional panels to our home we chose Sunline due to their great reviews. I'm very happy we did! To start off Matthew Copeland was very helpful at answering ALL my questions and I never felt any sales pressure from him. He is extremely knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. And after the quote, I even asked if they would clean my current panels and they did free of charge. Sunline provided updates throughout the entire process, and the crew that came including Manny were very professional and hard working. It was an all-around great experience with Sunline and I would highly recommend them if you are looking to add solar.

Great work

From start to finish, Sunline energy has demonstrated nothing but excellence in their customer service, sales, and installation departments. From the first appointment with Joe showing us the ins and outs of solar and breaking it down all the way through the approval process and installation, I felt in great hands and didn't have to devote much energy at all in the orchestration. It was all handled professionally and was a true example of how customer service should be. I also would like to commend Manny and his crew who were the electricians installing the panels. They expertly conducted the installation and were very mindful of cleanliness and safety especially during this covid situation. All said and done, I would recommend Sunline to anyone considering solar and I couldn't be happier with the product. Keep doing great work guys!!

The amount of communication and professionalism is amazing. Let's start with the rep who did the demo, Matthew. On time, professional and knowledgeable. Straight forward and doenst try to up sell or tell you all the "add ons" you dont need that most companies try to do. He explained the next steps in detail. Saldly I didnt move forward due to when they came out to survey the building site it showed I needed a new roof which I need to save up for. They were honest since day 1 and I will be getting my deposit back as promised. They didnt run and hide like most companies do. I did mentioned to Matthew once I save up to renew my roof I will reach out asap!

Why:
1) The most competitive bid compared with two other bigger solar installers. It was an easy decision. 30 Panel job, LG Neon panels.

2) Eric Gerza was our Sales Rep and answered all my questions and from our face to face meeting knew what I wanted and they delivered. I wanted symmetry and a "tight" job as I have full visibility of the arrays from the upper part of our property. Eric knew what I wanted and passed that to the engineering department.

3) Installation was first rate by Team 4! The conduit was well done and painted to match the roof and walls of our house. The symmetry is perfect. The main box was put in our garage as I didn't want it exposed to the outside elements. We had several broken tiles and they fixed that on the spot ... that's going above and beyond. I noticed during installation that one of the roof conduits was sticking up too much and they fixed that on the spot so it "kissed" the roof tiles. Team 4 was very polite and very eager to make me a satisfied customer.

4) Covid put a big wrench early on in terms of installation start date and was certainly understandable. Out of their control and required patience on both ends. Once the green light given, it took 2.5 days to complete.

5) Enphase Monitoring. For the first week, I watched the energy production like a young child with a new toy. Both arrays at the end of day produce the same amount of energy ... meaning, the engineering design was spot on in harnessing the optimum solar input. It's a nice feeling to know that we are making energy and helping, in a small way, to reduce our carbon footprint.

Recommendation IMO; know what your energy usage will be post installation. We are now more liberal in running our A/C and have plans to purchase an EV. We knew our energy usage would increase in the future so we planned accordingly.

After talking to SDGE, it turned out that my solar panels weren't giving them any juice. I called and or emailed several solar companies and by far, Sunline customer service was the fastest and the best. Mike, on the service team, talked me through several possible issues I might have and he determined that I might have a faulty inverter. He then called SolarEdge and got the ball rolling for me and got me a replacement inverter. He kept me up to date with the progress and got me my new inverter (still under warranty) within a few weeks. Mike is still texting me, helping me out with any questions I have.

I don't write many reviews but Mike and his team at Sunline deserves my 5 stars and my endorsement.

Everyone at Sunline Energy has been phenomenal to work with on our recent solar install. From our initial meeting with Matthew C in sales, to Alex G, Mike D and Jacob S in Engineering, the team of installers, Liz D, Morgan F and Amanda E, we've been treated with utmost respect. Throughout the process and what probably seemed to be our incessant questions, they were patient, courteous, prompt and thorough in their responses. They all demonstrated their command and knowledge in their respective areas of expertise (system recommendation, installation options, system operation, permitting and inspection). Sunline Energy stands behind their products, installs and commitments. The customer service has been top notch and we are very happy to have partnered with Sunline Energy.

Professional service!

Amazing how fast these guys got out there, set up and finished the job. 2 days and it was all done. SDG&E on the other hand delayed operation taking their sweet time to come out and do final inspection. The monitoring software is addicting. It is real time and we can see when a heater was turned on and turned off and we can see when a cloud comes overhead. Our facilities engineer where I work came out to look at the set up and observe the installation without telling them who he was and looked closely at the panels and he verified that the panels were the best on the market LG panels.
