In 1967, Dr. Harold Larimore, a prominent Springfield optometrist, convinced Drs. Richard Baker and Donald Pettigrew to merge their solo practices to form a powerful force in eye care. Some may have thought it was a risky venture, but history now proves that it was a brilliant idea. Sunshine Eye Clinic was born. Those early years started in a renovated service station on South Street near downtown Springfield, but it was not the building that was important. The value was in the care and service given to the patients of our Ozarks community.

A graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Dr. Keeling attended Missouri State University and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis in 1987. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Missouri Optometric Association and the Greater Ozarks Optometric Society. Dr. Keeling is a former leader in Boy Scouts of America, is married, the father of two sons and has practiced in Springfield since 1987.
