Tao To Wellness
read moreNikole Maxey, Deanna Tasi and Patricia Treasure De La Cruz are our Berkeley acupuncturists. These three incredible practitioners are gentle in their approach, but committed to quick results. All our acupuncturists are trained in Dr Tan's Balance Method, a cutting edge practice based on balancing the whole body through mirroring, imaging and the I Ching. Upon entering you will be immediately greeted by a beautiful, secret garden with a small fountain and some gorgeous koi fish. There is also a sitting bench in case the spirit moves you to meditate before or after your treatment.
About Us
read moreSimply put, Deanna Tasi loves what she does. She lives and breathes the medicine, and is grateful to be able to help patients with everything from stress and pain management, to fertility treatments. Before joining Tao to Wellness in 2016 she had already provided over 10,000 treatments in a community setting. Since joining Tao to Wellness she's had the fortune of developing her focus in fertility- assisting countless women on their fertility path. Deanna first became interested in studying Chinese medicine while taking Qi Gong classes.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
read moreChinese Herbal Medicine is one half of what makes Chinese medicine truly shine. We refer to it as the Yin to the Yang, the yang being acupuncture. These two major components of Chinese medicine complement and balance each other wonderfully upholding two different sides of the spectrum, respectfully Yin and Yang. In relation to each other, Chinese herbal medicine is more Yin. It nourishes the body, it replenishes body fluids, it builds blood, it harmonizes organs, it's very much of an inside job.
Acupuncture for Chronic Pain Management
read moreNeck and back pain is the number one issue most people in our country suffer from. For almost 20 years, whenever I'm at a party and I've met someone new and they are told what I do, their reply is almost always, "I've got this little spot here (pointing while self massaging), can acupuncture help with that?" My answer is always, always, always-a simple yes. Or "What about ankle pain?" Or "I pulled my hamstring, can you help that?" The answer is YES, YES, YES! Acupuncture and pain relief go hand in hand.
Acupuncture for Fertility in Berkeley
read moreAt Tao to Wellness, we see couples at varying stages of their journey to parenthood. Some add our services to help them conceive naturally, while others are approaching IUI or IVF and need support in this area. We also work with women who are currently pregnant and want to prevent potential miscarriage, are experiencing morning sickness/other symptoms, have a breech issue or need induction or cervical ripening to begin labor. We work in all these areas. Whether you are going through ART or doing it naturally, the beauty and intent of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture for fertility issues is to 'balance' the body, out of that a pregnancy occurs and then birth ensues.
Acupuncture for Anxiety & Depression
read moreThe practice of Chinese medicine doesn't discriminate whether the issue is physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. They are all one in the same and everything is interconnected by way of meridians or pathways that are connected to it's respective organ. Concerning the emotional plane, people are always surprised that acupuncture can work in this realm. When we use Chinese medicine and acupuncture for anxiety issues, it's not just the emotion itself that we consider, we take into consideration the whole body, we look at the physical, the mental, the emotional and diagnostic tools like the tongue and the pulse, all of these things help give us insight as to why the patient is experiencing this imbalance and they also give us insight as to what the best acupuncture points are for this particular patient.
