The Historical Museum

The Canadian Falls is referred to as Horseshoe Falls due to their shape. This particular set of falls was the site where many adventurous people took an exciting trip down the Niagara falls in a wooden barrel or a specially made steel barrel. Obviously, the trip was one way and exciting, especially the big splash at the end of the journey into the Maid of the Mist pool. Imagine the speed you would reach after going through the upper rapids of the Niagara River and then plunging over the edge of the Falls.
