Russ Thomas is owner and CEO of Thomas Music. He was educated at SUNY Fredonia and holds a Master's degree in Music Education. Russ learned the art of instrument repair in 1967 under the watchful eye of Dominic Puccio. He opened his own shop in 1968. Additional training took place at the former Allied School in Wisconsin in the early 1970's. He attended numerous Allied sponsored workshops and seminars prior to the formation of NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians)

We are located at 1908 Ridge Road East - in Irondequoit (Rochester, NY) - between Culver Road and Goodman Street. Our building is BEHIND Vittorio's Tux Shop. Eastridge Family Restaurant and U-Haul are across the street. There are not too many people who repair musical instruments for a living and even fewer who do it well! We are very committed to continuing education to stay current in the field of repair and to continually hone our skills.
