On January 1, 1986, after three decades of service, he handed the keys over to his son, Terry, and decided to retire to the life of a cattleman in Turkey, Texas. Terry took over management and continued the legendary operation of Amarillo's only authorized Harley-Davidson dealership. In 1998, Terry Tripp decided to relocate and redesign the image his father set forth. He packed up the parts, folded all the clothes and moved the storefront from Georgia to the busiest road in Amarillo, Interstate 40.
