A Brief History, UNITED BATTERY SYSTEMS opened for business in September of 1969 by its founder and mentor, Howard Cyphers. It started operation as a battery specialty shop selling new and reconditioned batteries to the public and soon added commercial accounts, business car fleets and freight transportation firms. This basic concept still remains as the economic base for the firm today. Early on, all branches started to service the auto-truck electrical charging systems requirements by selling and installing new or rebuilt alternators, starters, new regulators and solenoids.
