Through the years we currently have strived to provide you diverse talent in a very intimate setting. We're proud to say our stage has seen more than 50-five Grammy winning artists since our doors opened in 1991. In addition to providing world class live entertainment, our venue is host to many spectacular private parties and luncheons. We currently have become a popular meeting place, before and after many a walk to and from Tiger Stadium, Alex Box or the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to see the Tigers.

read moreOriginally operated as a film theatre, The Varsity Theatre has been a staple in Baton Rouge since the 1930s. The Varsity first opened its doors in 1937, filling a variety of roles in the film-theatre industry until it's closure in 1988. We reopened as Baton Rouge's premiere live music venue in 1990. The Varsity Theatre plays host to local artists and is a regular stop on nationally touring artists schedules. The Varsity Theatre is an ideal venue for cocktail parties, wedding receptions, graduation parties, award ceremonies and more.
