Bay Windows & Bow Windows
read moreBay windows have three adjacent windows, offer a 180-degree view and make rooms appear larger. Side windows can be hinged to allow them to open and close for increased airflow. Bow windows are similar to bays, but feature four or five panes, which are gently curved rather than angled. Bows also expand rooms and increase viewing, and can be fitted with hinged casements to allow for airflow. WASCO builds their bay windows right in our Milwaukee factory. We use premium materials, including 1 oak laminated plywood (no particle board) and top-quality, stainless steel fasteners (no nails or staples).
Pocket Replacement or Complete
read moreWASCO offers two choices in window installation: replacement leaving the original jambs, header and sill in place (also called pocket replacement window installation), or a complete tear-out of the original window. In general, WASCO recommends the former for homes built before approximately 1970, and the latter for clad wood casement windows and vinyl new construction windows. The reason: better materials were most likely used in the older homes, whereas sometimes less expensive materials (raw materials or even the windows themselves) are used in newer home construction to keep construction costs down.
