We decided to open My Sister's Closet after asking ourselves why resale stores were always dark, dirty and dingy. Why couldn't they look like new boutiques? We dedicated ourselves to turning the three d's - dark, dirty and dingy - into the three c's - cute, clean and current. In 1991, a store was born at Town & Country on Camelback in Phoenix. It was so tiny we considered naming it My Baby Sister's Closet. So many clients came calling that by 92 we had rented out a 2nd space.

read moreYes, it's true. There really is a sister at My Sister's Closet. In fact, there are 2 of us actively involved with the brand on a daily basis. Most days we are like peanut butter & jelly, although sometimes it can be a bit more like oil and vinegar. We do different things and mostly stay out of each other's way, but that has lead to our success as the nation's largest designer consignment concept. It would be an understatement to say we had humble beginnings but what we also had was a big vision.
