About Us
read moreWestern Veterinary Clinic opened in 1979 by Dr. Martin Langhofer to serve the needs of pets and their owners in the Michiana community. Our mission has always been to serve the Creator and our community by giving excellent veterinary care to all God's creatures, great and small. The emphasis has been with companion animals serving a wide variety of species. A large addition was built onto the clinic in 1987 along with remodeling of the existing structure that expanded the ability of the clinic.
Small Animal Dentistry
read moreA majority of dogs and cats over the age of three suffer from periodontal disease. This disease is caused by tartar buildup on the teeth. Once tartar contains excessive bacteria, it can move into the bloodstream and cause serious health problems. Besides bad breath, your pet could also have heart, kidney, and liver damage from poor dental health. It is imperative to have routine cleaning for your pet's teeth in order to prevent gum (periodontal) disease. If you notice any of the symptoms of gum disease in your dog or cat, it is especially important for you to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors before the problem becomes life-threatening.

Ultrasound

His studies took him through an intense two-year program focusing on abdominal, cardiac, and non-cardiac thoracic ultrasonography in dogs and cats. With his training he is able to provide patients with a complete abdominal, thoracic or cardiac ultrasound and aid you in narrowing your differential list or supplying a diagnosis. Aspirates of lesions or samples of effusions can be collected through ultrasound guidance to aid in obtaining important diagnostic information.
