About Us
read moreCost of the service is an issue with most people, as is the amount of time allowed for a session. And yes, therapy is a time and financial commitment for any client who decides to seek the assistance of a mental health professional — what you get in return is an experienced, highly-trained professional who truly cares about you and your situation. Becky engages in expensive, ongoing training to make sure she is armed with the best tools available to help people find the peace with themselves and in their relationships they are looking for.
Grief
read moreOne known way to help healing is telling the story that has pained or injured you to a compassionate and caring listener. That is one reason therapy is so effective. Since my son Benjamin's death, I have found it nourishing to talk about his life and to tell our story - below you will find part of it. Also, if you come to my office, you will see a section of my waiting area is now dedicated to this story and the love I feel for him. I urge you to join me in telling your stories. The day my son was killed was one of the worst days of my life.
Hypnotherapy
read moreHypnotherapy is an excellent tool for helping people reach their potential, and we offer it as a compliment to the psychotherapy process. I say it's a compliment to the process, but don't want to downplay what a crucial role it can play in unraveling the complex ways in which we allow ourselves to fail to reach our potential. In my experience, hypnotherapy is the most powerful tool I have ever seen to facilitate insight into issues, build self esteem, and to heal emotional wounds. Over and over again I stand in awe of the process as I witness clients who have tried a variety of different ways to heal their lives and end up succeeding after a few sessions of hypnotherapy.
Addictions
read moreAddiction is one of the most common problems I see in my practice and it comes in many forms. You will find that my attitude with addictions is tough, because that is what it takes to get an addict to do what they must do to get better. Addicts are world-class manipulators, deniers, and excuse-makers, because their sole objective is to keep the addiction alive, and that is why a therapist must take a tough stance with the illness. Sometimes I am the first person who has ever told the addicted person that the problem he or she has is serious and must be treated proactively.
