Wholesale Telecom, was began in 1997 by lifelong friends Tom Ortbal and Tim Clancy. Tom and Tim grew up together in West St. Louis County and have known each other since they were 12 years old. After 20 combined years working for others in the secondary telecom industry, Tom and Tim decided to branch out on their own. WTI started in a 200 square foot space in Tim's basement. Within 3 months the operation moved into a 2500 square foot office/warehouse in the West Port area of St. Louis.
