Windstone started in 1978 in Billings, Montana as a cardiovascular device distributor for the Northwest. At that time, the firm was called Cardio-Med Associates and eventually evolved into Cardio-Pak in the late 1980s as custom surgical packs became the focus of the business. In 2003, the firm was purchased by an investor and 3rd-party logistics supplier out of Sioux City, Iowa and since then, sales have nearly doubled. This partnership gave Windstone access to 42 distribution centers as needed across the US.

AMS sells into IDN's, individual hospitals, surgery centers and physician offices throughout the United States as well as multiple International markets.
