read moreOur Collaborative Leadership Programs immerse students and faculty in life-changing travel experiences focused on global issues and leadership. During these 10-21 day programs, participants immerse themselves in a rural community, get pushed off balance, and work alongside local students and community leaders to see things from new perspectives. This approach of "disconnect, decenter, and re-envision" is the foundation of our approach at World Leadership School. In certain countries, we offer two additional program types: NGO Partnerships, where students learn from innovative NGO leaders, and TeachUNITED Partnerships, where students work inside schools as part of TeachUNITED's innovative efforts to "partner with rural schools to transform teaching and learning."

But for this to happen, school as we know it has to be reimagined. We believe that Purpose Learning presents a clear path forward through the fog of today's education reform. We are working to build a movement around learning as thinking, feeling, and doing that empowers students to explore their unique purpose. We help schools transform learning by taking students out into the world, and we coach teachers to bring world-connected learning back into the classroom.

Since 2007 our diverse community has grown to 50+ staff, instructors, teacher coaches, and country coordinators around the world. Our US-based staff coordinates World Leadership School's travel and professional learning programs. Our instructors are amazing, intrepid, humorous, and wise experiential educators. Our teacher-coaches partner with educators to create learner-centered, purposeful classrooms.

read moreOne of the ways we measure impact at World Leadership School is by tracking our alumni and what they end up doing years after they complete our travel program for high school or middle school students. The stories we receive from our alums help us understand our long-term impact. Our Alumni Network is designed to engage past participants in lifelong learning about global issues and leadership. We also want to help you connect with local and international volunteer opportunities and a group of like-minded students and educators.
