Dr. Welch graduated from Colgate University with a B. S. In Biology with honors in Microbiology and received a M. S. In Microbiology from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. He received his M. D. Degree from Albany Medical College with honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
