For thirty five years, CSD has listened 1st and foremost to its consumer base. In South Dakota, CSD spearheaded the Deaf Child's Bill of Rights, which went on to be modeled by other states. CSD begin delivering telecommunications relay services before the FCC defined the service as such. CSD's contact centers won the Call Center of the Year Award in 2004, and CSD went on to create the video relay service industry as it is known today. All of these achievements have one thing in common - they redefined the way deaf and hard of hearing individuals accessed not only telecommunications.
