Our goal is to supply each student with an academically challenging and equitable educational experience. This experience is built on safety, respect, and accountability through Core Knowledge Curriculum, staff teaching, and dynamic interactive student, parental, and community involvement. These students will possess the eagerness, readiness, and skill for lifelong learning. While developing our plan for our charter school, we as parents and founders agreed with the findings of the Carnegie Council on Adolescent Development that Middle grade schools.

read moreICMS was first proposed by a group of parents in 1997. The school was designed to provide students in the Oklahoma City area with a small student population that allows us to form a safe and closely-knit community focused on student academic and emotional success. Students at ICMS can now continue to thrive in a similar environment for high school through our partnership with Harding Charter Preparatory High School, which allows for 8th grade students, who complete and return Harding Charter Prep's application, automatic acceptance for their 9th grade year.

read moreIn order to achieve the mission to prepare students to be successful in an academically challenging high school, ICMS strives to provide rigorous classes that engage learners in a safe environment. ICMS is proud to offer honors classes for all grade levels in Language Arts and Mathematics. Additionally, Spanish I, Algebra, and Geometry classes are offered for high school credit in the 8th grade. To meet the needs of all students, ICMS provides co-taught classes in all grade levels for Mathematics and Language Arts, and an intervention class called FOCUS.
