Lowell Development & Financial

The Lowell Development & Financial Corporation (LDFC) is a non-profit development corporation set up in 1975 to help in Lowell's economic revitalization. Its initial focus was to supply below market-rate, secondary financing for the rehabilitation and restoration of downtown buildings. Local banks and the Center City Committee offered the seed money to establish the LDFC. This initial capitalization resulted in $350, 000 being made available over a two-year period to build a revolving loan program.
