Missions
read moreMembers of Memorial are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable goods to church which are shared with AFAC each month. AFAC distributes groceries, directly and free of charge, to people living in Arlington who cannot afford to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs. The AFAC box is located in the Fellowhsip Hall, and members are encouraged to bring food the first Sunday of the month. The mission of Christ House is to provide comprehensive and compassionate health care to sick, homeless persons in the District of Columbia, and to assist them in addressing critical issues to help break the cycle of homelessness.
Church Covenant & Vision
read moreIn worship and fellowship we want to provide Christian hospitality so that you enjoy God's presence among God's people (Romans 15:7). Sunday morning worship gives us a center from which everything else flows. Loving God above all else is our first priority. Through a variety of Bible study and discussion groups you are invited to take the next step in the Christian life (2 Timothy 3:16-17). In these small groups you can grow with others in your understanding of God's plan to give each of us a fulfilling life now and forever.
Worship Services
read moreThe contemporary service is a worship service that offers refreshment for the body and soul. Held in the chapel, the service features contemporary music and an informal atmosphere with casual dress encouraged. Music is led by LifeLine, a small praise band that includes keyboard, guitar, and drums. The sermon is given in a conversational manner and input from the congregation is encouraged. The service includes a short children's sermon, after which preschoolers may be excused for children's church.
Request A Prayer
read moreLet us pray with you. Our prayer request form allows our congregation to be there for you in your times of need and your times of praise. If you would like for us to continue to communicate with you please provide us with the pertinent contact information. We are happy to pray with you and for you. Please note that all requests will be held in the strictest confidentiality unless you designate them for public prayer.
Youth Ministry
read moreThe MBC youth group strives to love God and love others by exploring scripture and God's guidance in our everyday lives. You are invited to come journey with us. Every month we have at least one FUN activity. Lately we've been seen laser-tagging, scavenger hunting, at the Nats game, or playing sardines at church. As always, we welcome all visitors to these outings and fun always ensues. Whether it's PASSPORT Youth Mission Camp or paintballing or your "regular" Wednesday night gathering or rolling up our sleeves to serve, MBCyouth seek to Love God and Love People!
Children's Ministry
read moreDue to the uncertainty that faces our nation, our community, and our church, planning for future events has proved to be very difficult. With so many unknowns and the safety and health of our children, volunteers and families being of utmost importance, we have decided to cancel Vacation Bible School for this summer. This was not an easy decision. We certainly feel the disapointment you might feel because we know how much our church and community look forward to the special time, but we are confident this is the best decision for our children, volunteers, and families.
Bible Study
read moreAt Memorial Baptist Church we try to meet the needs of our members and community. We have bible study groups for all ages as well as opportunities throughout the year to grow in biblical literacy and understanding. Take a look at our study groups and see if you can find somewhere to get involved! Each spring we invite a guest scholar and/or professor to lead us in a thorough examination of a particular book of the Bible or Biblical topic. Our guests come from all over the country and always provide excellent insight and discussion in their fields of study.
