MIT Academy is glad to announce the appointment of its new Director, Matt Smith and Assistant Director, Alex Insaurralde. Matt brings a range of experiences that fit MIT's requirements and vision well, having taught math and science in Oakland for 10 years and going on to serve for five years as the principal of the alternative education program in Martinez. Most recently Matt has been the Vice Principal of Teaching and Learning at James Logan High School in Union City, an urban school of 4, 100 students.
