Theater Palisades
Theaters & Cinemas in Los Angeles, CA
In 1963, Theatre Palisades was established by three television writers, Ken Rosen, Sheldon Stark, and Jacquie Chester. They wanted to produce original plays, starting with their own. Soon, it became a non-equity community theatre and ever since, has continually produced best quality live performances. As time went on, and the theatre expanded, the members wanted to build their own theatre. Lelah and Townley Pierson, two members, provided to donate the property on which the theatre now stands. The Board of Directors found an architect, John G. Wallis, elected a Building Committee Chair, Cynthia Wright, and Fund Raising Chair, Eva Holberg, who worked with Bob McMillin, until he moved to San Diego in 1985. John Whitcombe supervised the actual construction and Don Johnson was the contractor.

Theatre Palisades Youth
read moreWhat is Theatre Palisades Youth? TPY is the youth theater production group at the Pierson Playhouse in Pacific Palisades. There are two productions a year -- one that begins rehearsing in January and performs in late February/early March, and one that rehearses the entire month of July and performs at the end of July/early August. These are professional quality shows performed in our 125-seat community theater, before paying audiences. This is a real theater experience, with a professional and experienced director and production staff.
